"For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.” -Audrey Hepburn

Bon Jour Mes Amis!

I am posting from the 3rd floor apartment in Les Places de Vosges in the 8th district of Paris. It is currently 8:10 am here and I have been awake for hours, watching the city wake up slowly. I love being awake while everyone else sleeps. I've had a very productive morning full of skittles, college application essays, photo uploading and Boy Meets World reruns. I was reminded of how much I miss Corey & Topanga and the 90's in general. Also, I finished my first book of the summer. A beautiful short book full of letters called 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower.' You should definitely pick up a copy. I still have 36 days left in my European adventure. Yesterday, while exploring a street market, I decided that one of my goals of this trip will be to photograph my food. Food seems to be what life here revolves around, which is perfectly fine with me. I'll cook it, eat it or photograph it and be a very happy traveler.

Cake Adventure

before...

after!

Friday, June 11, 2010

I am officially done with my junior year of high school and it feels very strange. In exactly a year, I will be graduating and starting a new adventure. Time is funny thing. Anyways, I was reading through my notebook from my trip to Cambodia and I found this little description of my first morning in Phnom Penh. Read away...

Sitting criss-cross applesauce on the floor,
watching the sun rise slowly in the Cambodian sky.
This beauty is seen through the arms of a palm tree,
the open curtains of a window,
and the morning eyes of a traveler,
ready to start her day.
Blessed is this moment.
